About Us

Martin Flood

Martin is a registered Pharmacist, certified Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner, and sought after Neurobehavioural Coach who lives in Adelaide, Australia.

With a commitment to advancing the intersection of nutrition, stress, brain-body health, and pharmacology, Martin completed his post graduate training in lifestyle medicine in 2010 and become one of the very first qualified lifestyle medicine practitioners in Australia. He has since been awarded Fellowship of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine in recognition of his professional expertise.

After witnessing the devastating failure of traditional food-focused approaches in his weight loss clinic, his real breakthrough came when he stopped treating emotional overeating as a food problem and started addressing the underlying brain-body patterns instead.

In 2012 he founded Breakfree Nutrition and developed the groundbreaking Binge-free Neural Retraining (BFNR) framework – a science-based process that has helped hundreds of women finally end the struggle with binge and emotional eating for good.

By weaving together evidence-based practices from the psychology of eating, the somatics of nervous system regulation, and the neuroscience of changing firmly ingrained habits, BFNR represents a paradigm shift in disordered eating recovery.

This deeply transformative trauma-informed process doesn’t just manage symptoms, it systematically rewires the brain and body from the inside out, addressing the root patterns and pathways that drive food compulsions and obsessions.

With more than 10 000 hours of clinical experience, advanced training in lifestyle medicine, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed somatic practice, Martin brings a unique combination of deep scientific knowledge delivered with a compassionate-yet-direct approach that cuts through the noise.

His clients don’t just “manage” their eating. They achieve what they once thought impossible: complete freedom from the neural pathways driving their out-of-control eating habits.

Today, Martin’s mission extends beyond disordered eating recovery to transforming how people approach their physical, mental and biological health more broadly. By building stress-resilience across all systems (cognitive, emotional, and metabolic) his clients don’t just feel better – they feel more alive, healthier, and more present than ever before. And they step into lives filled with genuine joy, confidence, and self-trust.

Things I love ….

  • That first sip of black coffee in the morning
  • Getting into green space whenever I can – it’s my reset button when life gets loud
  • Long conversations with friends that solve nothing but feel like everything
  • Traveling to places where I’m forced to slow down and just be present
